Are you one of those families that match at Halloween each year or would you not be caught dead in matching costumes? We have only matched with our costumes one year. We dressed up as Wizard of Oz characters. I was the wicked witch, my husband was the scarecrow, my youngest daughter, Reese, was Glinda the good witch, and my oldest daughter, Finley, was Dorothy. It was so much fun! Since that year, I have said we would match every year. That was three years ago, and we haven’t done it since.
This year, I came up with the idea of us matching again with Alice in Wonderland costumes. To my utter shock, my oldest daughter agreed to do match with us. She is ten years old. I figured she would run for the hills when I started talking about matching costumes, but instead she got really excited. Of course, the fact that she gets to be the villain this year probably helped.
This year I will be the Cheshire cat, my husband will be the Mad Hatter, my youngest daughter will be Alice and my oldest daughter will be the Queen of Hearts. I plan on doing a vlog on Halloween to show you all how we got ready with our costumes and makeup and how much fun we had trick or treating!
I think we are going to have a lot of fun! I can’t wait! I’m hoping we can find different activities to do other than just trick or treating on Halloween, so we can wear our costumes more than once. Stay tuned for the fun vlog soon to come after Halloween!
If you would like to see what our costumes look like, I’ll link the video below for more details.
